*Grease a 15 x 10 x 1-inch baking pan.
*In a large saucepan over moderate heat, combine the sugar, butter or
margarine, brown sugar, and evaporated milk. Cook, stirring, until the
sugar has completely dissolved. Increase the heat to high and bring the
mixture to a boil; boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
*Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the marshmallows, stirring
until they are melted. Add the chocolate chips and pieces and stir until
they are melted. Fold in the vanilla and pecans until the mixture is
well blended.
*Pour the mixture into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
Place the baking pan in the refrigerator and chill the fudge until it is
firm. Using a sharp knife, cut the fudge into squares.
